Three differently abled persons, including two women fell ill while standing in the queue at the 'Bhima Bhoi Samartha Sibira' held at Polasara, about 45-km from here in Ganjam district today.
The 'Sibira' (camp) was organised by the block development office to identify the differential-abled persons in the block.
While a 20-year old dumb woman suddenly fell down while standing in the queue, a 70-year old deaf woman and a 45-year old polio-hit man also become sick in the queue.
Police personnel, deployed in the camp rushed them to the local hospital immediately. "We took them to the hospital immediately as there was no volunteer in the place", said inspector in charge, Polasra police station Tapaswini Kanhar.
"They were suffering from dehydration as the humidity in the area was very high. All of them recovered after treatment. Their names have been registered after they attended in the camp on return", said block development officer (BDO) Polasara Natabara Barada.
He said they have expected around 3000 to 3,500 people to attend in the camp. But, around 6,000 people attended the camp, he said. "We had made drinking water facility at the camp," Barada claimed.
MLA (Polasara) Srikanta Sahu also visited the camp, earlier. The incentives of Rs 50,000 to each couple, who married to the differentiable persons, have been provided by the government though the MLA.
