The Andhra Pradesh government has taken an initiative to address various grievances of the natives of the state living in Delhi.
Under the 'Janmabhoomi Maa Ooru' (My birthplace is my native) initiative, people can reach out to the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan Resident Commissioner either in person or through a phone call on every Monday between 5 and 6 pm with their grievances.
Resident Commissioner Praveen Prakash, who is the nodal officer for the initiative, would monitor disposal of the grievances.
"Any issue that is bothering Telugu people in seven cities of NCR or their family members in the state will be addressed. This is to give them confidence and peace of mind," Prakash said.
The initiative, a brainchild of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is in the second week of its implementation.
Prakash said reaching out to six lakh people of the state scattered across the national capital region was a challenge.
"Telugu population are dispersed across seven cities of NCR and they are not concentrated in one place. Within two months, we hope we would be able to reach out to them," he said.
The government is also planning to use social media for the purpose.
"We are planning to be part of various Whatsapp groups (cultural and residential) of Telugu population here. Social media will be used extensively to get to the bottom of any issue," he said.
The initiative was launched in Andhra Pradesh to understand the implementation of various schemes and get feedback from people.
