Three persons were killed and five others injured Wednesday when a car collided head on with a scooter on Cuttack-Paradip road in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district, police said.
All the three deceased, including a man and his son, were in the scooter. Two of them died on the spot, police said.
The collision took place near Pathuriagada area following which the four-wheeler was overturned and five of its occupants suffered injuries.
Protesting against the incident, local people staged a road blockade near the accident spot demanding adequate compensation for the families of those killed.
