The members of the delegation Shivaji Patil, Arvind Sawant, Shrirang Barne and Prataprao said that due to their deep interest in Marathas, the historical places of Panipat assumes special significance for them, an official release quoted them as saying.
Later, they also visited Panipat Museum.
Earlier, on their arrival at Panipat, they were accorded warm welcome by Tehsildar Hariom Atri on behalf of the district administration.
Patil said that it was his first visit to Panipat and he wanted to see the land of Panipat where the Marathas who had come from far away fought bravely and showed indomitable courage and unity.
Barne and Prataprao said that the culture of Haryana and Maharashtra is quite similar. They also gathered lot of information about the articles and costumes displayed in the museum.
