4 siblings drown in Gujarat village pond

In a tragic incident, four minor siblings today drowned in a pond in adjoining Sabarkantha district of Gujarat, officials said.
The incident took place in Chhochhar village under Poshina taluka, where four children identified as Pyari Gamar (10), Jagdish Gamar (9), Santosh Gamar (5) and Chandrika Gamar (4) drowned in a pond, said Disaster Management Officer of Sabarkantha district Kalu Patel.
Two of them first entered the pond and started drowning as they did not know its depth. On seeing them going down, the two others jumped to save them, but all of them met the watery grave, he said.

Later, the bodies of all four children were recovered from the pond and sent for post-mortem at a hospital in Poshina town, said Patel.
