As many as 44 alleged human traffickers involved in a sex racket were arrested and 39 women, including eight minors, rescued from Maharashtra's Chandrapur by Crime Investigation Department (CID) wing of Telangana police.
A Satyanarayan, additional DG (CID) today said the sleuths conducted raids in the neighboring state on July 22. All the accused were sent to judicial custody by a local court yesterday.
"Out of the 44 traffickers, 30 are women. Seven boys were also found assisting the traffickers in the brothel house. They were handed over to Maharashtra police," Satyanarayan told reporters in a press conference.
The police official said two accused are still at large.
