5 killed, 1 injured as passenger train rams into jeep in UP

Five persons were today killed and one person was injured when a jeep they were travelling in was hit by a passenger train at an unmanned crossing in Mainpuri district, a police spokesman said here.
The incident occurred this morning when the jeep carrying seven passengers was hit by the train, which was coming from Farukkhabad and heading towards Sikohabad, at an unmanned crossing in Bhogaon area, he said.
The deceased were identified as -- Ram Autar (70), Rajan Lal (35), Jalaluddin (35), Pushpa Devi (40) and Narain Singh (17).
The injured, Megh Singh (36), has been admitted to the hospital, the spokesman added.
