Phagwara SP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that those held have been identified as Inderdip Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Vineet Khurma, Harvinder Singh, Harjit Singh and Gurinder Singh while another accused, one Shindu, remains at large.
The youths have been named in a complaint by a woman from Ranipur village who has alleged that they attacked her son yesterday with sharp weapons over a minor issue.
"My son, who studies in a school in Bhogpur village, was dragged down from his schoolbus and beaten black and blue," she alleged.
