A court here today sent Subair, a key accused in the murder of Hindu Munnani functionary C Sasikumar, to seven days police custody.
Subair, who was arrested by the CB-CID on Wednesday from the Mullapadi Railway Gate near Pollachiand, is lodged in the Central Jail.
Sasikumar (36), district spokesperson of the Munnani, was murdered with sickles by a gang on two wheelers when he was returning home in Subramaniampalayam, on the outskirts, on September 22 last year, triggering a communal flare up.
Granting the custody of Subair to police, Chief Judicial Magistrate Madurasekharan directed the CB-CID to produce him on October 20 before him.
The main accused in the case Saddam Hussain was arrested two months ago while search was on for his accomplice Mubarak, said to be the master mind behind the murder, according to the police.
