Acting on a tip-off, the SWAT team and police conducted a raid at Chatikara crossing and seized the liquor-laden truck late night on Thursday, SSP Rakesh Singh said, adding that the liquor was being smuggled using forged army documents.
The accused Mubarik Mev and Munfaid Mev, residents of Palwal and Mewat in Haryana, told the police that they used forged documents of the army to supply liquor in different areas of Lucknow, Kanpur, Etawah and Ferozabad, the SSP said.
Singh said the accused have been sent to jail and surprise checking will continue to avoid smuggling of liquor through Mathura district.
