RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today appealed to the Maoists to shun violence and join the mainstream, saying guns could never bring change in society.
"Abjure violence and take the path of non-violence, for guns can never bring any solution," Prasad said while addressing an election meeting at Bhavanathpur in the Naxal-affected Palamau Lok Sabha constituency in support of RJD candidate Manoj Kumar.
Twenty out of 24 districts in Jharkhand are Naxal-affected.
As per the seat adjustment formula among UPA constituents, out of the 14 LS seats in the state, Congress is contesting nine, JMM four and RJD one.
