BJP today launched a frontal attack on the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) alleging that it was being guided by the National Conference and Congress and added that it now stands exposed before the public.
Countering BJP's allegations, NC President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah today said it has no plans to topple the BJP-PDP led government in the state.
State BJP President and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma told reporters here tonight, "The BJP's repeated assertions of ACC agitation being guided and directed by political parties like NC and Congress have been proven correct. The ACC stands exposed before the public now."
Sharma said that today's incident of the ACC gathering being addressed by Farooq Abdullah, has now exposed the ACC as it had been repeatedly assuring the people that no political leader will be allowed to use its platform.
Sharma said the BJP had understood it in advance and had cautioned the people that some political parties are, in fact, behind the agitation but ACC always termed it as false propaganda by the BJP, but the cat has now come out of the box.
He claimed when the Health Ministry has announced an AIIMS for the region, there is no logic or justification in continuing the agitation but unfortunately the political masters behind it are guiding ACC, which has become puppet in the hands of these parties.
Sharma appealed to the people to see that the agitation is now unjustified and the transporters, shopkeepers, businessman should start working again for the convenience of the general public and thousands of Yatris who are reaching Jammu everyday.
He also appealed to the ACC to reconsider its decision of extending the agitation.
BJP Spokesman Sunil Sethi said, "If ACC is honest in its claims that it is entirely non-political platform, it should not fall prey in the hands of NC and Congress."
He also appealed to the various organizations associated with ACC to not become a part of it as it had deviated from its noble cause.
The main opposition National Conference today said it has no plans to topple the state government, but cautioned the ruling partners to address the genuine grievances of the people of the state.
"I don't know but the BJP knows this better, as they say that we are trying to topple the government, I must tell you that we are not doing this", former chief minister and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah told reporters here today.
