"The teachers, who are working with the Education Department, will not be allowed to give private tuition during winters and disciplinary action, including termination from services, will be initiated against the violators," Education Minister Naeem Akhtar said addressing a function in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
He said the state government would offer infrastructure of the Education Department to unemployed youth, who can and want to start tuition centres or evening classes there and earn a livelihood.
"We will open our school buildings to educated, unemployed youth who can run tuition centres during winters or start evening classes there. We have a large pool of talented youth who are running from pillar to post to earn a livelihood. This step will help in addressing their problem of unemployment to some extent," the minister said.
He said the department of education would conduct a screening test for such teachers before they are allowed to start these facilities.
