"Research being done in the institutes should reach villages. Every institute should bring the research being done on the ground in nearby villages so that farmers could be benefitted from it," Singh said.
The Union Minister said "every scientist should adopt at least one village, whether it's their own or some place else. If 7,000 scientists adopt one village each, it could bring a big change in the agriculture sector".
All vacant posts of agriculture scientists in institutes falling under the ministry would be filled within a year and all agriculture science centers would be strengthened infrastructrally, he said.
