Adult leopard trapped

A fully grown male leopard was today trapped at Meleng Pohumora Gaon by the Jorhat Forest Division here.
The 11-year-old leopard had created terror in the Meleng area and so far attacked four persons and killed over dozens cattle, District Forest Officer Sapan Saikia said.
After getting reports last night, the Jorhat Forest Division placed a cage besides a tea garden and the leopard was trapped ultimately this morning, he said.
The leopard has been shifted to animal rescue and rehabilitation centre of the World Wildlife Trust of India at Kaziranga today.
