AICC appoints office-bearers in poll-bound Telangana

All India Congress Committee Wednesday appointed A.Revanth Reddy, who joined the party last year, and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar as working presidents of the partys unit in poll-bound Telangana.

According to a list of office-bearers released, Congress President Rahul Gandhi appointed Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu as chairman of the campaign committee for the coming assembly elections while Dasoju Sravan will be the convenor.

Gandhi appointed office-bearers for nine committees of the Telangana Congress for the elections.

In a gaffe, the list included the name of K R Suresh Reddy, former speaker, as a member of the Election Coordination Committee though he had recently switched loyalties to the ruling TRS.

Revanth Reddy had quit TDP and joined the Congress last year.

Among others, former deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha has been appointed chairman of the Manifesto Committee while Marri Sashidhra Reddy chairman of the election commission coordination committee.
