Airtel appoints Srikanth Karra as HR Director

Telecom major Bharti Airtel today appointed Srikanth Karra as Director - Human Resources - for its India and South Asia operations.
He will report to Gopal Vittal, MD and CEO (India and South Asia) and will be a member of the Airtel Management Board.
Karra will be responsible for bringing in business focused and innovative HR systems and processes, delivering strategies and providing overall leadership to the HR function, the company said in a statement.
He will work closely with the board to develop and execute various HR initiatives.
"We are delighted to have Srikanth on board. I am confident that his rich experience will help create a significant impact on our people strategy and processes as we enter an exciting phase of growth led by the growth of new services like data and mobile commerce," Vittal said.

With an experience of over 27 years, Karra has worked with various companies, including Hewlett Packard India, Syntel and GECIS (India).
