The six-day competition will continue till January 27.
Every 22 personnel from each team would go through a gruelling schedule of fast runs, obstacle courses, reflex shooting and commando operations in urban and jungle scenario -- to be completed within four hours and 45 minutes, an official statement said.
"The format of the competition is designed in such a manner as to test a commando team on endurance, physical and mental strength, co ordination, firing skills, knowledge of tactics and planning capabilities," it said.
An obstacle course with 19 obstacles spread over 1.3 km has been set up at the Tamil Nadu Police Academy for this competition.
"A system of motorized, electronically controlled target system has been designed and provided for reflex shooting event," it added.
The Chief Minister would present trophies to winners in a valedictory on January 27.
