"I met them as they are my old friends. Karat and his wife Brinda had met me when I was ill," he told PTI.
He said he would soon be meeting Advani and Rahul. "After all, politics is not a gang war. I know leaders cutting across party lines... From Advani ji, I get insight of the political history," he said.
Later, he had formed Rashtriya Lok Manch which drew a blank in the last Uttar Pradesh assembly elections as none of its 360 candidates was able to win any seat.
In 2014, ahead of Lok Sabha elections, he and Jaya Prada had joined Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). He contested from Fatehpur Sikri.
