Ambala top cop receives threat call; case registered

Ambala Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jorwal received an alleged threat call on his mobile, following which a case has been registered against unknown person, the police said today.
According to police, an unknown person called up on the official mobile phone of the district police chief last night.
The call was received by a constable on duty, they said.
The unknown person threatened that there could be a bomb blast if a prisoner lodged in Ambala jail was not released immediately, police said.
The person also demanded Rs 50 lakh from him, police added.
The constable brought the matter in the notice of SP.

A case was registered in the Baldevnagar police station of Ambala City against unknown person for threatening the SP on his mobile phone, police said.

The matter is being probed and information is being collected about the prisoner who was asked to be released by the unknown person.
