The deceased has been identified as Trilok of Chhotu Ram Nagar here who was pursuing M.Ed course in MD University.
According to the police, Trilok reportedly consumed some poisonous substance at his house on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
He was immediately taken to PGIMS here by his kin but died during medical treatment this morning.
Though the exact reason behind this extreme step is yet to be ascertained, kin of Trilok said he was in frustration for some time for not getting government job.
She was a student of Economics in the university.
The incident came to notice in the evening when some hostel mates spotted through the window of the room that Annu hanging. They immediately informed the hostel warden who later called the police.
"We have started investigation in both the cases to find out truth behind the incidents", said DSP Virender Singh.
