Ankit, who was lodged at the district jail was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition, where he was declared brought dead last night, according to jail authorities.
Arrested in a loot case he was lodged in the jail since March 2014. He had taken ill, they said.
This is the second death of an undertrial prisoner of the district jail within a week.
On January 22, one undertrial Zishan (35) had died after taking ill.
