APDR team prevented from talking to Makra villagers

Police today stopped a team of Association for Protection of Democratic Rights (APDR) from interacting with villagers of Makra in Birbhum district.
A APDR team, comprising Bolan Bandopadhay and Sailen Mitra, which went to Makra village to talk to the villagers was told by the police to leave the village.
The members of the APDR team were taken to the Parui police station and released on personal recognisance (PR) bond, the police said.
Three persons were killed and as many injured when Trinamool Congress and BJP supporters fought a gun battle at Makra. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC have been clamped in the area after the clash.
