Employees of the state run Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) plan to strike work from tomorrow for a hike in their salary, official sources said.
APSRTC employees are seeking a 43 per cent "fitment" in salaries, but the corporation management expressed its inability to concede their demand in view of its poor financial condition, official sources said.
Talks between the two sides to resolve the issue didn't succeed, sources said.
Employees are now left with no option but to strike work, employees' union leader Padmakar said.
Observing that employees cannot be blamed for more financial condition of the organisation, he said that employees are willing to work hard to improve the situation.
Incidentally, the APSRTC is yet to be divided between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after bifurcation last year.
