The youngest to scale Mt. Everest, Vajpai had to return 100 metre short of the fifth highest mountain in the world due to bad weather and shortage of ropes.
The expedition is part of the 20-year-old mountaineer's quest to become the first Indian to climb all the fourteen 8,000 m peaks in the world. Only 32 climbers in the world have scaled all these peaks.
Along with Vajpai, Krushnaa Patil of Pune would be joining the expedition.
Vibhu Pandey, a photographer and wild-life explorer, would be filming Arjun and Krushnaa's journey to the summit of Makalu.
