A local court today remanded to CBI custody the chief of a ponzi firm, who was arrested for allegedly duping investors, till March 26, rejecting his bail plea.
Additional Chief Judiciak Magistrate Apurba Kumar Ghosh remanded Pramatha Nath Manna, chief of MPS, to CBI custody as requested by the investigating agency to interrogate him on charges of duping investors in North 24 Parganas district.
Manna, Chairman of the group, was arrested four months back on September 26 in Bankura on charges of cheating investors and his North 24 Parganas office was raided by the sleuths sometime back.
The central agency, probing the Ponzi scams, had conducted raids at 19 locations across the state, including North 24 Parganas and Bankura.
MPS is said to have collected over Rs 1800 crore from the depositors and ran resorts too.
