"As peace is the yardstick to gauge the social maturity of any nation or state, a peaceful state is one of the most important criteria for uninterrupted development," Khandu said at the 44th Arunachal Pradesh Police Raising Day at Police Training Centre (PTC) Banderdewa.
He announced that strengthening of police department will be one of the top priorities of his government.
"With active cooperation of state police personnel, the state government can ensure that there is peace in the state and any fringe element attempting to disrupt it shall be dealt with iron hand," Khandu asserted.
Funds raised for APP Welfare society is utilized for welfare loan such as medical treatment, marriage, education, accident benefits and retirement benefits of police personnel.
On the occasion, Khandu remembered the brave, honest and upright state police personnel who sacrificed their lives in pursuit of maintaining peace and fighting crime.
While recalling Deputy SP Bomto Kamdak's supreme sacrifice, the Chief Minister informed that state government has framed a policy to recognise the sacrifices made by police personnel.
Khandu said the state government has decided to give Deputy SP rank job to Kamdak's wife as mark of respect to the brave soul.

Later at a programme, Khandu said the cabinet has
approved creation of 500 posts to fill up vacancies in the administration.
"It is a historic decision that more than 100 posts of circle officers have been created," he said.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is taking measures and formulating policies to equip the youths towards their skill development.
