The newly-installed Kalikho Pul government in Arunachal Pradesh will face a test of its strength in the assembly tomorrow on the first day of a three- day session.
Deputy Speaker Tenzing Norbu Thongdok told PTI that a new Speaker would also be elected as the seat was lying vacant since December 16.
Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa today summoned the seventh session of the assembly from February 25 to February 27.
Thongdok said the customary governor's address was also scheduled for tomorrow.
With February 26 being a holiday due to Nyokum festival of the Nyishi community, the motion of thanks to the governor's address would be taken up on the last day of the session.
"The business of the house has been decided in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting held under my chairmanship today in presence of its members including Chief Minister Pul, Leader of Opposition (BJP) Tamiyo Taga, Pema Khandu and Paknga Bage," Thongdok said.
The session has been summoned after Pul was sworn in as the eighth chief minister of the state on February 19 after over three months of political instability.
The union cabinet had on January 24 last recommended for imposition of President's rule and it was imposed on January 26. It was lifted less than a month later on February 19.
The Himalayan state had plunged into political turmoil after 21 dissident MLAs led by Pul revolted against the then chief minister Nabam Tuki and the governor had advanced the sixth session of the assembly from January 14 to December 16 and December 17 last year, which was convened in makeshift venues.
During the session, which was attended by all the 21 rebel MLAs who included 11 BJP members and two Independents, the house with Deputy Speaker Thongdok at the chair impeached Speaker Nabam Rebia and elected Pul as the new leader.
The case on it is being heard on daily basis in Supreme Court.
