ASI caught receiving Rs 20,000 bribe

An Assistant Sub-Inspector was today caught red-handed by the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta Police for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 inside a police station in Ratlam district.
Acting on a tip-off, Lokayukta sleuths caught ASI Jandel Singh Gurjar when he was receiving the bribe money from Vikram Singh for clearing his name in a case related to sale of liquor, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basant Shrivastava told reporters here.
The ASI was caught inside the Piploda police station while taking the bribe from Singh, he said.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him in this regard and further investigations are on.
