Dutta, a BJP MLA from Behali, handed over the complaint to state BJP president Ranjit Dass, who summoned Sharma to discuss the matter with him.
Dass told reporters that an emergency meeting of the party will be held on October 7 to discuss the issue in detail.
He, however, did not reveal details of the discussion he had with Sharma, a BJP MP from Tezpur constituency.
Dutta in his complaint said that Sharma's allegations were "baseless and irresponsible which will affect the party".
Meanwhile, Opposition parties Congress and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) have demanded an inquiry into the allegations.
