The accused, Prakash S Natkar (Assistant BDO) and Mohsin Khan Anwar Ali Khan (Junior Assistant), are attached to the Yavatmal Panchayat Samiti.
They yesterday demanded a bribe of Rs 4,000 from a person for sanctioning construction of a house under Indira Awas Yojana, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Yavatmal ACB) Satish Deshmukh said.
After bargaining, the duo agreed to release an amount of Rs 27,990 under the housing scheme if the person pays them Rs 2,000, he said.
Both officials were put under arrest, he added.
