Four people were taken into custody this morning but two of them were later released after interrogation, SHO (Chainsa) Preetpal said.
Police had previously arrested nine persons from Atali village of Ballabgarh town on charges of whipping up communal passion in the area, which has witnessed two clashes recently.
Meanwhile, members of one community have alleged that the police was favouring the other community.
Earlier in the day, a member of the community claimed that a 25-member delegation met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to lodge their protest against the arrests, alleging that those being nabbed belonged to their community only.
Home Ministry sources, however, could not be reached to confirm the meeting.
On May 25, at least five persons were injured and around 15 houses gutted after a clash erupted between two communities over construction of a religious structure. On July 1, minor clashes again erupted in which four persons were injured.
