The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today called the killing of seven Amarnath pilgrims "an act of cowardice" and advised the government to look into the "glaring loopholes" due to which the attack took place despite an intelligence input.
Senior AAP leader and party spokesperson Sanjay Singh said that media reports suggested that there was an intelligence input about a possible attack on the pilgrims.
"The government should look into the glaring loopholes on what went wrong despite the intelligence input," Singh said.
He observed that Amarnath devotees have been targeted several times in the past and urged the government to be more careful in providing security to them.
"The attack on devotees is an act of terrorism. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Centre and urge it to deal sternly with those, who indulge in acts of terrorism," Singh said.
After the firing by militants yesterday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had "strongly condemned the terror attack" terming it as "a cowardly act".
