Avaya partners HP for cloud-based services

It services firm Avaya today said it has signed a multi-year agreement with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to offer cloud-based unified communications (UC) and contact center technology and management solutions for enterprises.
Avaya and HP Enterprise Services will sell a combined portfolio of UC-as-a-Service, Contact Center-as-a-Service and infrastructure modernisation services, it said in a release.
Combining HP's expertise in services delivery with Avaya's strong UC and contact center portfolio will create one of the most advanced solutions in the industry, including mobile applications, software and networking, it added.

OnMobile appoints Francois-Charles Sirois as non-exe Chairman * Mobile VAS services firm OnMobile today announced the appointment of Francois-Charles Sirois as the non-executive Chairman of its Board.

Sirois, who was named on the Board on June 26 of this year replaces H H Haight, who served as company's Chairman for between December 2011-August, 2014, it said in a release.

At present, Sirois is the President and CEO of media and technology holding firm Telesystem.
He is also the President and CEO of OnMobile Systems Inc.

BenQ market leader in Indian Projector space in Q2 FY 2014 * Digital lifestyle products and solutions firm BenQ today said it has been rated as the number one player in the Indian Projector Market with 25 per cent market share in Q2 FY 2014 by research and consulting firm Futuresource Consulting.

The projector category remains crowded with 15 brands accounting for 95 per cent of all sales. In such a cluttered market BenQ has increased 35 per cent in projector volume year-on-year for Q2 FY 2014, it said in a release.
As per the report the India digital projector market has almost remained flat, it added.

Innovation, operational efficiency driving biz transformations * The link between innovation and operational efficiency is driving many business transformations today, although these have traditionally been viewed as separate issues, a study commissioned by IT services major TCS revealed today.

The study, conducted by Forrester Consulting, covered 100 decision makers in the US and the UK with significant involvement in business transformation projects. The study began in February 2014 and was completed in May 2014, TCS said in a release.
The study found 84 per cent of transformation leaders view their programmes as a critical part of their innovation strategy, it added.
At the same time, transformational innovation is not possible without operational excellence, with 85 per cent of respondents indicating that reducing operational costs and increasing internal efficiencies were top innovation priorities.
