Balmer Lawrie Q3 profit declines 9% to Rs 33 cr

Diversified state-owned company Balmer Lawrie & Co today reported 8.94 per cent decline in net profit to Rs 33 crore for the December quarter on account of lower income from operations.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 36.24 crore during the October-December quarter of 2014.
Balmer Lawrie's total income from operations during the quarter under review decreased to Rs 655.08 crore, from Rs 712.18 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a regulatory filing.
However, its total expenses in the December quarter also declined to Rs 611.53 crore, from Rs 684.26 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Shares of Balmer Lawrie & Co closed at Rs 563.15, down 1.05 per cent on the BSE.
