Bank manager caught taking Rs 35,000 as bribe

Manager of Sunam branch of Primary Agriculture Development Bank was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 35,000 in lieu of sanctioning loan.
Nirmal Singh Waraich was nabbed by sleuths of Punjab Vigilance bureau while accepting bribe of Rs 35,000, said an official spokesman.
Complainant Baljit Singh alleged that Manager had demanded bribe for approving Rs 9 lakh loan, he said.
