Chief Minister, N Rangasamy said in a release today that Rs five crore would be dispersed under education loan towards higher education of students of these groups.
The Corporation would disburse the remaining Rs five crore to the members of the BCs and minority community to enable them to launch self employment projects, he said, adding, low rate of interest would be levied for the loans.
It had also disbursed Rs 12 crores to the minorities during this period, he said.
As a highlight of celebrating the Teacher's day (September 5), 250 students were presented education loan totalling Rs one crore out of funds earmarked for the current fiscal.
