Two minor children, who were working in a carpet factory here, were today rescued in a raid by a labour department team, an official said.
On a complaint that a carpet weaving factory has employed children, a labour department team carried out the raid in which Jitendra (12) and Deepak (11) hailing from Katihar (Bihar) were freed, Assistant Labour Commissioner Pankaj Singh Rana said.
According to the rescued children, four more children used to work in the unit and the factory owner escaped at the time of raid, Rana said.
A case has been registered against the owner of the unit and efforts were on to nab him, Rana said.
