The new entity will be called BDP-UGL Global Logistics India (pvt) Ltd, BDP said here.
"We see India is a growing an important market. The merger will help us increase our footprint geographically in the country as well as to acquire certain capabilities," BDP International chairman and chief executive Richard Bolte said.
The integration of UGL into BDP's existing India operations builds on the success the BDP has enjoyed in recent years, he said adding, "that's why BDP has combined its world-class systems and technology with the local expertise and knowledge of UGL.
"This new company will open up growth opportunities for BDP customers seeking to do business in India," he added.
The new organisation will continue to be led by the incumbent management team.
The integration with UGL will mean dedicated inbound and outbound logistics and customs clearance in every major international gateway, seaport and airport in India, delivering the speed and flexibility of service that BDP clients have come to expect, the company said.
