Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today asked Rural Development Department officials executing centrally sponsored schemes to be very careful while dealing with MGNREGA and other schemes.
Emphasizing the importance of Integrated Watershed Management Programme and MGNREGA in creating job avenues in rural areas, Tuki urged the officials to avoid duplicity while selecting beneficiaries as well as implementing the schemes.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the 'State Level Review Meeting on RD Programmes' here, he expressed concern over repeated complaints over selection of beneficiaries and implementation of the schemes and suggested that such complaints need to be addressed at appropriate levels in the blocks and districts.
The chief minister said the field officers were better equipped technically to provide inputs and suggestions to the government in implementation of these all important schemes.
"These review meetings are the best platform for you to discuss, decide and suggest. The Government is always eager to listen to you and incorporate your suggestions," he assured the officials.
Pointing out that everyone is aware of the guidelines and their rights as beneficiaries in today's world of information technology, Tuki called upon the officers to implement the schemes strictly as per the rules.
The review meeting was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Development Punji Mara, Parliamentary Secretary for Social Justice Empowerment and Tribal Affairs Karya Bagang, Secretary Rural Development T Taggu, RD Director Tarin Dakpe and others.
