BEL elevates two GMs to executive directors

Navratna defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) today said it has elevated two General Managers (GMs) -- Girish Kumar and M V Gowtama -- as Executive Directors (EDs) with effect from September 8.
Girish Kumar, ED (Radar) and Unit Head (BEL-Ghaziabad), joined BEL's Ghaziabad unit as a Probationary Engineer on October 22, 1979, after completing his BE (Mechanical) from MITS, Gwalior.
He assumed charge as GM of the Export Manufacturing Strategic Business Unit at Bengaluru on August 1, 2009, and was serving as GM (Radar) and Unit Head (GAD) till his elevation, the company said in a statement.
Gowtama, ED (Milcom)/BEL-Bengaluru, completed his B Tech in Electronics and Communications from Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Tirupati, and joined BEL-Ghaziabad in January, 1983.

He served as GM (Technology Planning) at BEL's Corporate Office and GM (Milcom)/BEL-Bengaluru, till his elevation, the statement added.
