"We began with two SKUs recently in the panel segment and in the second phase we will add another 4-5 SKUs by this year. All will be in panels," said Satish Padmanabhan, Sales Head, Sony India.
The company has 23 SKUs in panels or television models.
Sony India has undergone outsourcing tie-up with a Chennai based firm for making televisions. The firm is only into LED panel based TVs.
Asked about plans to make Xperia phones in India, he said nothing has been firmed up yet for this vertical.
In the festive season between Durga Puja and Diwali, Sony India projects to do a business of Rs 5,000 crore, or 20 per cent jump over last year, Padmanabhan said.
Last fiscal, Sony India had a turnover of Rs 10,400 crore.
In West Bengal alone, the company aims to do a business of Rs 280 crore, a sharp gain over last year's sales of Rs 200 crore from the state.
