"With Indian Cinema and Aurora Films having completed 100 years, this year's BFJA awards are really special for us. The felicitation of two veterans, both stalwarts in their own rights couldnt have taken place in a more appropriate time," Secretary of the association Prabir Ray said.
BFJA, which had previously honoured V Shantaram, Mehboob Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, said it would adapt with the changes of time by promoting and encouraging all the divergent genres of Tollywood.
The 36 Chowringhee Lane maker will be honoured for her contribution to Bengali and Indian film industry as a director as well as an actor spanning a career of decades.
