Director Roland Emmerich took to Twitter to share the news to the movie's fans, reported Ace Showbiz.
Roland shared two photos of Bill and Judd in the original 1996 movie.
"Today we celebrate our #IndependenceDay sequel. Welcome back, Bill Pullman," the director shared alongside a photo of Bill's character President Thomas J Whitmore.
While for Judd's character Julius Levinson's photo, he captioned it, "It's official... We're thrilled to have the GREAT Judd Hirsch grace the set of #IndependenceDay once again!"
Bill and Judd are not only the original cast members who are back for the follow-up film. Brent Spiner who played scientist Dr Brackish Okun, Vivica A Fox who played Will Smith's Steven Hiller's love interest and Jeff Goldblum who starred as computer expert David Levinson are also expected to reprise their respective roles.
