'Bio fuel based electrification scheme to benefit rural areas'

Union minister Farooq Abdullah today said bio fuel based rural electrification scheme can solve the problem of power in the rural areas and also generate more job opportunities.
"People are migrating towards the cities following scarcity of power in the villages.....With the bio-fuel based projects being set up in rural areas those living there would get more job opportunities and the migration would also stop," the New and Renewable Energy minister said after inaugurating one such project in Bilaria area under Kasmanda block here.
Abdullah said that efforts are on to ensure that solar power reaches everywhere so that the villages could be strengthened.

The energy of sun and wind should be properly utilised and as many projects as possible be started so that the cost is also kept under control, he added.
