A bench of justices Kailash Gambhir and Indermeet Kaur also issued non-bailable-warrant for repeated non-appearance against the man, who claimed to be a neurologist-cum-criminal lawyer and had earned the court's wrath for illegally recording proceedings during a hearing.
The contempt proceedings were initiated against Adarsh Kant Kapoor after he was caught in March this year allegedly recording the proceedings during the hearing of his petition in which he had sought a direction that all court proceedings should be allowed to be videographed.
The bench, meanwhile, directed the police to file staus report by December 16.
Earlier, the bench had issued notice to Kapoor seeking his response as to why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against him for his conduct.
When the judge had objected to his act and asked him to hand over the tape recorder, Kapoor refused to comply with the court's direction.
Finally, the court had called security personnel who restrained Kapoor from recording the court proceedings and referred the matter for initiation of contempt of court proceedings against him.
