Condemning the Patna serial blasts, All India Anti-Terrorist Front (AIATF) chairman M S Bitta today called for a political consensus on security issues in the wake of a spurt in terrorist and subversive activities in the country.
Leaders of various political parties and people at large are facing grave security threats due to spurt in terrorist and subversive activities in the country...If terror attacks continue like this, the next general elections may witness blood bath and even leaders may get killed, Bitta told reporters here.
Taking strong exception to the ongoing blame game over the Patna serial blasts that claimed six lives, Bitta asked political parties to stop fighting each other over terrorist activities and build a consensus on measures required for putting in place elaborate security arrangements for themselves and the people.
Referring to the Patna serial blasts, he slammed the Bihar Police and its intelligence unit for the "security lapses" which allowed the perpetrators to carry out serial blasts at Gandhi Maidan during BJP's 'Hunkar Rally' on Sunday last for which they should be booked on murder charge.
Bitta lauded the crowd for keeping calm even when explosions were taking place near them at the rally venue.
On the probe in the serial blasts, Bitta said a free and fair investigation will not be possible without involving the Gujarat Police.
