Aggrieved by rejection of his bail applications by lower courts, actor-turned BJD leader Tatwaprakash Satpathy today moved the Orissa High Court for regular bail.
"We have challenged the order of rejection of bail application by the Khordha district and sessions court earlier this month", said Satpathy's advocate Debsnana Das adding the matter would come up for hearing soon.
Sources said that Satpathy's associate Pradeep Sahu, who was also arrested in the same case, has also approached the High Court for regular bail.
The comedian, who had unsuccessfully contested the April-2014 assembly elections in the state, was arrested by the Commissionerate police on June 30 on the charge of sexual slur brought against him by a minor girl.
Arrested under relevant sections of IPC and offences under Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, the actor is currently cooling his heels behind the bars of Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar.
