BJP claims bypoll results a rebuff to Cong's negative politics

BJP today claimed that results of bye-elections to six assembly constituencies in states showed that people have once again reposed their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and strongly rebuffed the practitioners of negative politics "led by Congress".
"The bypoll results are a shot in the arm for the BJP and its positive politics at the Centre and in states and is a strong rebuff for the practitioners of negative politics led by the Congress," BJP spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao said.
Thanking people for "enhanced" electoral support to BJP evident in the bypoll results, he said, "People have once again reposed their trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his positive governance agenda."

Rao said people have shown that politics is about performance and promise and not about holding press conferences and stalling Parliament, which the Congress party has reduced itself to over the past few months.
The BJP leader claimed the bypoll results show improved performance of the party in different regions.
In Garoth assembly constituency of Madhya Pradesh, BJP defeated Congress by 12,945 votes, while in Tripura BJP pushed Congress down to third position in two assembly seats where by polls were held.
"This is a significant march for BJP and reflects the popular response to the Prime Minister in path breaking initiatives in the north eastern region and with neighbouring Bangladesh," he said.

In Aruvikkara assembly of Kerala, BJP polled 34,145 votes, a nearly five-fold increase compared to 7,694 votes polled in last assembly election.
