BJP today demanded a judicial probe into the police firing at Pagar village that claimed the life of a person.
"We demand a judicial probe headed by a sitting high court judge into yesterday's incident and the report should be submitted to the government within two months," senior BJP leaders Yashwant Sinha and Arjun Munda told reporters after visiting the bereaved family and the families of other injured persons in the village.
The firing took place following a dispute over construction of site office-cum-staff hostel for the Chattu Bariatu Coal Mining Project of NTPC.
